| RAY ASHTON AMS 720 -
Level 1 Thermographer - Principal Surveyor, Consultant & Investigator
Ray is a British national, but has been resident in Greece since 1987 and in Spain since 2003. He started his career with the Merchant Navy following a short marine small craft engineering apprenticeship on shore and served with several large shipping companies on both home and overseas trading routes. In the 1970s he was employed as first mate and later as skipper on a large motor yacht. He subsequently worked as skipper and engineer on various types of private and commercial yachts operating in the Mediterranean Sea. |
| In 1975 after nine years at sea Ray
left Greece and joined the British Police Force. He spent 12 years with
Humberside Police, 10 years as a detective in the C.I.D during which
time he was attached to the anti terrorist squad and seconded to No. 3
Regional Crime Squad investigating serious crimes nation wide. During
this period Ray was instrumental in solving many notorious cases and was
commended on several occasions by the courts and Chief Constables. In
the course of his duties Ray was particularly trained in investigation
techniques, surveillance and use of tactical firearms.
In 1987 Ray left the Police service and moved to Greece where until 1993 he worked as principal marine surveyor with an Anglo/Greek company, dealing with insurance casualties. In October 1993, he set up Ray Ashton & Associates in Glyfada, Greece where he continues to maintain a presence. |
| Ray is a qualified surveyor by
training and experience and is a qualified Yacht Master and marine yacht
engineer with specialised qualifications on Detroit diesel engines. He is
also a diver, life-saver and trained in fire fighting theory, practice
and installation of systems. Ray is an approved Accredited Marine
Surveyor by examination, a member of the Society of Accredited Marine
Surveyors, a member of the Royal Yachting Association and a member of
the American Boat and Yacht Council.
Ray is a trained investigator and is a full member of the International Association of Marine Investigators, certified upon completion of training courses in Southampton, United Kingdom and Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A. He is also a member of the United Kingdom Professional Investigators Network, the International Investigator Network and the coveted World Association of Private Investigators. Ray has attended a weeks residential training course in UK in relation to Infrared image surveys which can be used for both marine and non-marine applications. Ray speaks Greek fluently and is presently learning Spanish. |
AMANDA ASHTON - Level 1 ThermographerAmanda has been involved in marine insurance work since 1991 when she joined a British based company in Greece. From inception of Ray Ashton & Associates in 1993, she has maintained the administrative co-ordination of all the offices. Amanda has attended a weeks residential training course in UK in relation to Infrared image surveys which can be used for both marine and non-marine applications. Amanda is a full member of the International Association of Marine Investigators, certified upon completion of training courses in Southampton, United Kingdom and Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A. Amanda is trained in investigation techniques, speaks Greek fluently.and is presently learning Spanish. |
OTHER STAFFR A & A Limited has a complement of full time staff, all of whom are experienced and qualified surveyors / investigators or associated administrators. In addition for investigation assignments the company has a permanent and associate staff drawn from the British Police Force, H.M. Services and the Special Forces. |
